Luis Antonio Ubiñas (born 1963) is the ninth president of the Ford Foundation. He became president in 2008.[1]
In his career Ubiñas has worked for both for-profit and non-profit organizations. He has served on the Boards of a range of local and national non-profits, including Leadership Education and Development, the Steppingstone Foundation, the March of Dimes in Boston, and the United Way in San Francisco.[2]
In his business career, Ubiñas spent 18 years at McKinsey & Company.[2] At McKinsey, he worked with telecommunications, technology and media companies and led McKinsey's Media Practice on the West Coast. His worked centered on leading major change programs.
Ubiñas grew up in the South Bronx, New York City.[2] He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1985 and was a Truman Scholar. In 1989 he graduated from Harvard Business School.[1]
His wife, Deborah Tolman, a feminist scholar. They have two sons.[1]
